Brief Profile
Kwasi Poku, a senior member of Ghana Institute of Planners (GIP) and Union of African Population Studies (UAPS) has over 30 years’ experience. His specialty is in Institutional Capacity Building and Project Management. He has worked as a Project Monitor / Technical Advisor to EU Micro projects with BIRD (KNUST, Kumasi); National Training Coordinator for Christian Youth in Tertiary Institutions; Research Fellow, Land Administration Research Center (KNUST, Kumasi) and with FAO as a Farmer-based Group Development and Organization Specialist on the Presidential Special Initiative, Ghana. He is now a Director of JEAVCO Associates Ltd, a Project Management firm engaged in Events Organization and Moderation, Results –Based Monitoring and Evaluation, Institutional Capacity Building, Socio-economic studies, Strategic Planning, Impact assessment and Manpower planning. He has been a key Consultant for Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, Ghana on Urban II, III & V projects and VIP/CBRDP between 2000 & 2006. In, July – September 2011 Kwasi was the co-team leader in the Socio-economic study of the Small Scale Tree Crop Rehabilitation Project in 7 Counties in Liberia
As a private consultant, he has worked as a Project Monitor / Technical Advisor to EU Micro projects with BIRD (KNUST, Kumasi); National Training Coordinator for Christian Youth in Tertiary Institutions; Research Fellow, Land Administration Research Center (KNUST, Kumasi) FAO and now a Director of JEAVCO Associates Ltd, a Project Management firm engaged in Institutional Capacity Building, Socio-economic studies, Project design, Impact assessment, Manpower planning, Monitoring and Evaluation. He has been a key Consultant for Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development on Urban II, III & V projects and VIP in Institutional Capacity Building on the Decentralisation concept. He has also helped several Districts, Municipal and Metropolitan Assemblies in the development of the Medium Term Development Plans.
As the Development Planning and R-B M&E expert of WasteCare, he has been involved in the preparation of National Environmental Sanitation Strategy and Action Plan (NESSAP) and Strategic Environmental Sanitation Investment Plan (SESIP) for Ghana -responsible for developing R-B M&E sections and costing of M&E packages among other assignments undertaken WasteCare.
